Sheds, garages, bike huts and porches all use different forms of roofing, and are all equally as important when it comes to keeping the weather at bay.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you\u2019re thinking of building a new outdoor structure, where do you start when it comes to the roof? Here, we look at the different easy-to-install material options available to help you choose the right fit for your frame.<\/p>\n<h2>Option one: Corrugated sheets<\/h2>\n<p>You won\u2019t have to walk too far down the street to spot a bike shed or garden porch fitted with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eroofs.co.uk\/dept\/72\/corrugated-sheets\">corrugated sheeting<\/a> for the roof.<\/p>\n<p>But way back in the early 1800s when it was first invented, corrugated galvanised iron \u2013 to give it its proper name \u2013 was widely used for everything from warehouses and factories to simple homes and water tanks.<\/p>\n<p>Originally made from wrought iron, corrugated sheets are now usually made from steel. And their popularity remains thanks to unique qualities, which include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Lightweight yet heavy duty by nature<br \/>\n\u2022 Easy and simple to install<br \/>\n\u2022 Cost-effective and affordable when bought in both large and small batches<br \/>\n\u2022 Corrosion-resistant<br \/>\n\u2022 Easy to transport.<\/p>\n<p>Corrugated sheets are available in a range of widths, lengths and thickness \u2013 perfect for fitting the materials to your job, not the other way around. Corrugated sheeting can also be used for completing a variety of structures and will stand the test of time.<\/p>\n<h2>Option two: Polycarbonate sheets<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eroofs.co.uk\/dept\/73\/polycarbonate-sheets\">Polycarbonate roof sheets<\/a> are essentially made from shatterproof, strong and durable plastic. Due to the see-through properties, temperature resistance and impact resistance, polycarbonate is ideal for building greenhouses, cold frames, shed windows and simple wall structures.<\/p>\n<p>The benefits of using polycarbonate sheeting include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Strong, tough and durable even in poor weather conditions<br \/>\n\u2022 Impressive heat and sound insulation power<br \/>\n\u2022 Easy to install<br \/>\n\u2022 Cost-effective due to both the material price and the fact that you can use lighter support structures.<\/p>\n<p>Polycarbonate roof and wall sheeting is also cut to exactly to your requirements, making it even easier to install.<\/p>\n<h2>Option three: Coroline and onduline sheets<\/h2>\n<p>If you are hoping to build a structure with eco credentials, you won\u2019t have to look much further than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eroofs.co.uk\/dept\/74\/coroline-onduline-sheets\">coroline sheeting<\/a> \/\u00a0onduline sheeting.<\/p>\n<p>Made from recycled cellulose fibres \u2013 which are saturated with bitumen under intense pressure and heat \u2013 coroline and onduline are great options for anyone looking to be kind to the environment, while still getting all the benefit of a durable material.<\/p>\n<p>As well as utilising recycled material, these sheeting options also benefit from being:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Easy to install<br \/>\n\u2022 Durable and strong<br \/>\n\u2022 Lightweight and easy to handle<br \/>\n\u2022 Multi-use, including for summer houses, sheds and workshops<br \/>\n\u2022 Able to withstand high weathering<br \/>\n\u2022 Affordable<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, you won\u2019t have to forget about style when you opt for substance.
